Compére Without Compare

Hosting a live show is more than just reading out the names of the acts; a good compere is a master of ceremonies whilst also being a stand-up comedian, an improvisor, a cheerleader, and an advocate for both the audience and the performers.

This workshop delves into the multitasking skills required to be an entertaining compere.

  • Interacting with the audience (including hecklers!)

  • Transitioning between acts

  • Backstage and onstage etiquette

  • Building anticipation

  • How to fill

  • Stage persona vs being yourself
